Power Skating

Power Skating classes hosted at NCWC span from new Mites to Peewees. Weekly classes includes a series of drills relating to skating: maximizing power and control, turning/pivoting, stopping/starting, balance and body awareness. Skaters also become educated about parts of the blade as it relates to acceleration or performing specific turns. All skaters must have helmet, hockey gloves, sticks, shin pads and skates - full equipment is optional.

Intro to Power Skating - Mites: 

Tuesday, 7:00-7:45 am

This class is for boy and girl U8/U10 Travel levels players on Mite Bs, Squirt B and 8U Ice Cat players. Our Power Skating classes offer skaters the tools to be faster, stronger, and more agile. Stops/starts, attack and defensive skating skills, transitions, and some player specific needs are all developed throughout the season. MDP Select team players may eligible with approval and pending capacity.

Mite Power Skating:  

Wednesday, 7:00-7:45 am

This class is for boy and girl U8 Travel Mite A1, A levels players with previous Power Skating experience. Our Power Skating classes offer skaters the tools to be faster, stronger, and more agile. Stops/starts, attack and defensive skating skills, transitions, and some player specific needs are all developed throughout the season.

Squirt Power Skating:  

Monday, 7:00-7:45 am

Open to boy and girl U10 Travel Hockey players. Our Power Skating classes offer skaters the tools to be faster, stronger, and more agile.   Stops/starts, attack and defensive skating skills, transitions, and some player specific needs are all developed throughout the season.

Peewee Power Skating

Monday, 7:45-8:30 pm

Open to all boy and girl U12 Travel Hockey Players. This class will utilize the entire ice surface to further develop skills and techniques presented in Power Hockey Skating - Squirts.
