2023-2024

Instructional classes at the Winter Club cover a broad range of ages, abilities, and disciplines. All of NCWC instructors are SkateSafe certified and use the Learn to Skate USA curriculum which is endorsed by USA Hockey, US Figure Skating, and US Speed Skating.

Learn to Skate Classes

Our youngest skaters (beginning at age 3) are taught the ABC’s of skating (Agility, Balance, Coordination). Our progress-based curriculum teaches the fundamentals of skating which sets the stage for exploring more about ice hockey and figure skating.

Supplemental Classes

NCWC offers several classes that aid in the development of the complete skater or player.

• For rising hockey players, there is Hockey Skating Skills and an Intro to Power Skating class. Both have prerequisites.

• For competitive travel hockey players, there are Power Skating classes.

• Adult skating instruction and on-ice Cardio classes are available for participants 18 and up.

• Figure skating specific classes are also available. The Synchronized Skating Team class begins at the Basic 5 level. Skaters in our Masters class begin to bridge into the United States Figure Skating test track curriculum, which includes Moves in the Field and Ice Dance. In season events include an annual competition with Greenwich Skating Club, Solo/Pair, and Year End Shows.
